Gavin MacLeod: Doing His Part for God
by Di Freeze Sep 2009
He’s a famous – and beloved – TV and movie actor, and he loves to talk about Jesus. avin MacLeod has been making movies and stage appearances for half a century, with some of the biggest stars of all time. His numerous TV credits include the roles of Murray Slaughter on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and Captain Merrill Stubing on “The Love Boat.” The walls in his home display numerous lifetime achievement awards, but nothing in his acting career has been as rewarding as being a part of the movie, “The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry” (to be released in theatres in mid-September). “I’ve already seen people give their lives to Christ because of this film,” he says. “I had something to do with that, because I played this man. To have the privilege of helping him onstage is overwhelming. I wish you could see what happens in the audience when we tell them that he had a fall and that he has had memory loss. Please Sign In
