Samuel Rodriguez: Hearing the Still, Small Voice

Samuel Rodriguez says he learned from his parents the importance of doing God’s will, even in times of angst and struggles. Today he is the most prominent voice for the Hispanic evangelical community in the United States and has a vision for Hispanics bringing people together in the church.

he biblical story of Samuel tells the tale of a young boy who faithfully listened to God’s quiet commandment, later growing up to become an influential prophet. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, relates a story with striking parallels. As a 14-year-old boy with dreams of becoming an engineer, Rodriguez, now 39, had a “personal encounter with Christ” that drastically altered the course of his life.
