Failure to Communicate

Here’s some advice for when you feel like slamming a door, or glaring at an adult.

I

n parent/teen communication, body language, eye contact and even unconscious responses are key aspects of the communication. As teens, we easily communicate disrespect – something that is under the enormous blanket of “Children obey your parents” (Ephesians 6:1) – through lack of eye contact. Slamming doors (sometimes an unconscious response though usually a conscious and fully rebellious response) is definitely disrespectful.

To have the privilege of helping him onstage is overwhelming. I wish you could see what happens in the audience when we tell them that he had a fall and that he has had memory loss. Please Sign In
