ODI, Calif., Aug. 20 -- Century Christian School is welcoming students back to the campus with over $80,000 in donated improvements. In a time when public and private schools alike are feeling the squeeze of the down-turned economy, a small city school defied the nightly news with a dramatic increase in local financial support. 

Parents, grandparents, and supporters raised and contributed some $80,000. These funds allowed for a custom concrete outdoor dining area (which also doubles as an assembly area); resurfacing the playground, fully equipped with a sound system, lighting, custom shade sails, a flagpole; and further beautification through professional landscaping.

"I've always been grateful for the fantastic families we have at Century," says Pastor Dale Edwards, Senior Pastor of Century Assembly. "But this summer has been an incredible reminder that anything is possible when people really care and work together for something they truly believe in."
