There’s a sure remedy when you’re feeling lonely or forgotten
hink back to your childhood. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. All of the children are playing a game of hide-and-go seek. "Fifty-nine, sixty ... ready or not, here I come!" shouts a young and joyous spirit.
You quickly hide behind a bush, laughing all the way. Minutes slip into hours and no one finds you. You faithfully stay hidden. No one else is in sight. You hear no footsteps, no one calling your name. Shadows begin to creep around you as the sun drifts away. You now admit to yourself that you were forgotten. You were left in the dark, completely alone. Your spirit is crushed as you drudge home.
Does this situation sound familiar to you? Have you ever felt lonely or forgotten? Even so, if you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are never alone. In your darkest hour, your hour of need, God is with you. God promises to be with us always. He is omnipresent. So, never fear the dark, for God is light, and the light always overcomes the dark.
"Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light." (Dr. V. Raymond Edman)
