Cause of Christ: Worthy of Giving One’s Life – Pastor Randy Weeaks
by Kathleen Goolsby Mar 2009
Pastor Weeaks speaks about being faithful to the Lord even in down times and hanging onto integrity. A sense of humor is important too.

andy Weeaks is pastor of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, Mansfield, Texas, in the southern portion of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Chuckling, he says he’s “a little bit of a redneck and about as sharp as a butter knife.” But that sharpness is a significant aspect of the church’s rapid growth during his 16 years as its pastor. Visitors and members alike are drawn to the way he uses his sense of humor, speech mannerisms and sense of humor to powerfully deliver biblical insights. He sums up his life in ministry as, “I never dreamed I’d be here. I’m just an old country boy who said “yes” to God years ago, and I’m still doing that.”

To have the privilege of helping him onstage is overwhelming. I wish you could see what happens in the audience when we tell them that he had a fall and that he has had memory loss. Please Sign In
