Disappearing Dads

A startling high percentage of societal problems in America have a common root cause: boys who grew up without fathers in the home. But a unique faith-based program is successfully demonstrating the difference it makes in a fatherless boy’s life when a Christian man volunteers to show him love, accept him, and mentor him about God and life.

n epidemic is attacking Americans. It is not borne by a virus or a bacterium. The disease’s sole cause is the disappearance of fathers from the family structure. Americans feel the ripple effect of this phenomenon in all aspects of life. According to an April 14, 2009 press release issued by The Fatherless Generation (www.wearethefatherless.com), there are already 24 million people now living in the United States who grew up, or who are growing up, fatherless. As the “Staggering Statistics” sidebar shows, the results of this sociological epidemic are disturbing, to say the least.

To have the privilege of helping him onstage is overwhelming. I wish you could see what happens in the audience when we tell them that he had a fall and that he has had memory loss. Please Sign In
